Well, after my unsuccessful attempts to keep fish, my tank has been emptied, scrubbed clean, and all fish related accessories have been put away. Now there is just an empty 10 gallon glass aquarium sitting there, staring at me every day and begging to be filled. I wasn’t planning on getting any other pets, after all, I have two wonderful kitties to keep my attention every day, but I just can’t stand that empty tank. I NEED to put something in it. So, I’ve decided that next week for my birthday, I’m going to get a hamster or two.
I had been planning to spend the money I usually get for my birthday to buy things to spruce up my fish tank. Now I’ll just use the money to fix it up as a hamster house instead. I had two teddy bear hamsters about 10 years ago and absolutely loved them. They were so cute, cuddly and fun to play with. When they died, I was broken hearted and never got any more. I think it’s time to get one again, or maybe two. If I don’t get teddy bear hamsters, I’ll get dwarf hamsters instead. They are cute, too, and stay smaller than the teddy bear hamsters. Both are adorable.
The only decision I have left to make is whether to get two of the same sex or a male and a female. If I get a male and a female, they will breed and hamsters breed a lot. Anywhere from 4 to 10 babies every month! And, of course, if those babies are kept together, they will begin to breed, too, usually within 30 days of being born. If I get two of the same sex from the same litter, they will live happily together as companions and I won’t have to worry about breeding.
Decisions, decisions. What would you do?
