Here are some more poems I've written. I used to love writing poetry and I'm hoping to start writing again. I miss the joy it used to bring to my life. I'm pretty good at it, too. At least, I think I am.
Echoes
Sand, like grated stone
Sifting through my fingers
Sharp points
Too small to see
Leaving behind abrasive memories
Like minuscule craters
On the surface of a
Miniature moon
Grains of time scraping
Against my soul.
Sweet Angel Eyes - written for my niece, Leah, when she was 2.
Sweet angel eyes
Of innocence and trust
So young you are
I hope that life
Will never weigh you down
With heavy burdens
Or leave your heart broken
And stained with tears
May you always be so quick to laugh
And though your lips may quiver
Never cry
May harsh hands and cruel words
Never touch you
And smiles only grace your path
I wish for you
All happiness and joy
And someday may you behold
Your very own sweet angel eyes
Misc. Untitled Mini-poems
I have a heart
Like tissue paper;
Easily crumpled and torn.
The ink of life
flows through my veins
And out onto the paper
Of
Existence
I am my pen.
Clouds meander
Like lazy sheep
Across the blue fields
Of heaven.
Anger
Like Rabid mice
Breeds quickly
And spreads its venom
Through each generation.
