Here are three more poems I've written. They don't have any titles.
#1
A solitary wolf howl
Pierces the night air
And pauses
as if
Waiting for his mate
to answer
But comes only silence
And then
A solitary wolf howl
Pierces the night air
A lonely midnight cry
#2
There is a stairway leading
To the cellar of my soul
Deep down; dark odors of
Rage buried in corners
Seeping through the cracks
Rusting the edges of the armor
Meant to protect me
#3
I'll never forget that summer day
You forced me to grow up too fast
You stole my innocence away
And left the scars that are now my past.
So many years have now gone by
And yet the scars remain
You took away my virginity
And replaced it with fear and pain.
The bruises you left on my body
Paled near the ones left inside
That day beneath your hurting hands
I learned to cower and hide.
What right did you have to steal from me
And teach me to take the blame?
Didn't you know or didn't you care
That I would always carry that shame?
Did you care so little for that little girl
Whose trust you crushed and broke?
The one you swore to secrecy
The one who never spoke.
Well now the silence is over
My story I'm free to tell
I survived and thrived in spite of you
My strenth has served me well.
No longer do I flinch and cry
Beneath another man's hands
I've learned to break your hold on me
I've taken my command.
Never again will I take the blame
For something I did not do.
So remember this when you hear my name
The crime that day belonged to you!
