Viewing the world from a Christian perspective...

Dear Reader,

First of all, I would like to welcome you to my site and thank you for stopping by to check it out. I named the site "To Be A Light" because in the Bible, we are told to be a light unto the world. Christians have been commissioned by Christ to radiate His Light and His Salvation to a world that has been darkened by sin. I take that mission very seriously.

When I look at things going on in this world, I see them through the eyes of my faith and sometimes that makes me see the world a whole lot differently than other people. I've read somewhere that a large majority of the people, in the U.S. at least, claim to be Christian and yet I look at the world around me and I wonder "where are they?" Where are all those Christians? Our world does not seem like a very Christian place anymore. The Christian values that used to guide us seem to have disappeared. Christianity, itself, seems to be disappearing from society. We've taken it out of the schools, out of the courtrooms, and out of the public eye. Christianity has become something "personal" that we hide in the privacy of our homes while sexual preferences and other things of a "private" nature are now made public. We've got it all wrong! Christianity isn't supposed to be private! We are supposed to be shouting it from the mountain tops! We're supposed to be shining a light of hope and salvation into a sin darkened world! We are supposed to be A LIGHT UNTO THE WORLD! A light so bright that EVERYONE can see it and be drawn to Christ.

This site is meant to be a part of that light. I'm going to comment on things I see going on in this world around us and give people a view through MY Christian perspective. People may not always agree with me. In fact, a lot of people probably won't. Even other Christians may not agree with my views and that's okay. This site is simply MY perspective. If nothing else, maybe I can give you something to think about. And, of course, you're all welcome to join the message board and post your own comments, perspectives and ideas. Let's start turning on our lights!

Love Always,
Ven
