Freedom Of Speech? Not For Christians!

One of the things America is known for is its freedoms, one of the biggest being the freedom of speech. Freedom of speech is the very foundation of this country and that foundation was built by Christian men and women to ensure that their faith would never be suppressed by a dictatorial government. Unfortunately, the very laws our founders established to protect religious freedom are being used to wipe it out. Christians are no longer free to express their views in public places. We are told to “keep it to ourselves” and “leave our faith at home.” Our government has become more concerned with protecting the non-Christians from being offended then they are with protecting our religious freedoms. Our rights are being stripped away one-by-one and too many Christians are failing to see the danger.

The problem stems from the current interpretation of the separation of Church and state. Separation of Church and state was never meant to keep Christianity OUT of our government. Our government was founded on Christian principles and built on the backs of Christian people. This country exists BECAUSE of Christian people who risked their lives to build a place where their faith would never be suppressed. Separation of Church and state was intended to prevent the government from making ANY laws concerning religion, including laws or judgments preventing the public expression of religion. Displaying the Ten Commandments in a court room or allowing prayers in the classroom may be offensive to some, but it does NOT violate separation of Church and state. Every court ruling that prevents those things from occurring DOES violate separation of Church and state and it also violates the freedom of speech for EVERY Christian in this country.

Why is this country so worried about the offensiveness of Christianity anyway? Why should it be wrong for me to offend someone with my faith? They are free to disagree with me and they are free not to listen. I find it offensive to go to a public restaurant or a public park and be forced to listen to a nearby group of people who can’t seem to get through a single sentence without using the “F” word at least 3 times, but I have yet to see a court ruling barring profanity. I find it offensive that the public school system will teach my child to accept homosexuality, something I believe is morally wrong, but they won’t allow my child to pray. I find it offensive that I can’t take my children to a public beach without exposing them to women who wear bathing suits that are no more than a band-aid over each nipple and a small amount of dental floss up their butt, but God forbid that we should violate THEIR freedom of expression. It’s more important that we don’t offend them by daring to baptize someone in the vicinity of their swimming area.

It’s time for every Christian in this country to wake up! Christianity is NOT supposed to be private! Christ gave us a mission… to shout our faith from the mountain tops! We are to tell the WHOLE world about Christ. We are supposed to spread the word and BE A LIGHT UNTO THE WORLD! We are to OFFEND evil and fight for righteousness! If we don’t stand up RIGHT NOW and fight for the right to express our faith in EVERY public place, we will wake up someday and find that we cannot express our faith in ANY public place.

I challenge every Christian to stand up and be a warrior for Christ, TODAY! Christ died for me! Christ died for you! The least we can do is FIGHT for Him! Do not let His message of salvation be silenced!
