I know I haven’t been very active about writing in my blogs lately, but there’s a good reason. I’m in the middle of trying to move, not an easy thing to do even in the best of circumstances. For me, it was an unexpected event and has thrown my life into a bit of turmoil.
For those of you who read some of my other blogs, you probably know I’ve been living with one of my sisters. She decided to put her house up for sale at the beginning of July and assumed it would take at least a few months to sell, since some of the other houses in the area have been up for sale for quite a while without being sold. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, the house sold right away and now we have to move. By the end of this week, no less.
My sister was able to find a small apartment for her and her son right away. That leaves me. I haven’t been having quite as much luck. I spent all of last week apartment hunting and finally found one that is priced right for my limited budget and in a good neighborhood, so now I have to wait for that all important approval call. I should find out if I’m approved later this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Then comes the unpleasant task of packing my entire life into boxes, moving it all (hopefully without breaking anything), and then unpacking it again. Not exactly one of my favorite things to do.
So, as you can see, I haven’t had very many minutes to spare for writing and during the rare times when I do have a moment, I’ve been too exhausted and stressed to manage stringing together the words for an entry. This week isn’t going to be any easier, so I probably won’t write again until I’m moved and set up in my new apartment. Hopefully, my DSL connection will be transferred quickly and I won’t have too much down time. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers and I’ll see you all soon.
